Just got back from X Men - Days of Future Past

Second favorite. X2 still in the lead, and marginally better than the original X-Men and First Class.

I felt it was a little overstuffed. Some cheesy "high concept" stuff during the Paris scenes. Some too on the nose dialogue. But the stakes were high and quite honestly, until the end you aren't sure how it's all going to work out. The plot and scripting were top notch for comic book fare. Not quite Winter Soldier smart (my favorite comic book film thus far, even ahead of Dark Knight, but I was always a Cap fan), but more sci-fi twisty.

Every cast member gets a moment to chew some scenery and be actual actors, although I really wanted more future Prof X. In the future timeline he's almost helpless. Magneto gets to be a total badass in both timelines however, and I really appreciate seeing the state of their relationship in the future.. Oh, and I also want more Quicksilver. He's only present for a couple of scenes, but his Big Scene is a real highlight for the entire film.

I won't give anything away, but go into this film knowing that it erases Brett Ratner's contributions from the timeline, and in a way that makes sense.

I give it a 7.5 out of 10. That is all.
